Meet Hannah
Cultivating backyard bliss
Hello! I’m Hannah Kinder, and I come from a proud lineage of farmers, rooted in a deep appreciation for the land and its bountiful offerings. Over the last 10 years, I have tirelessly cultivated my love for gardening, embarking on this journey with a humble 4×4 patch in my parents’ backyard. Today, I stand as the founder of Sanctuary, where I dedicate myself to helping individuals like you design, source, and install your very own slice of kitchen garden paradise.

Educational Roots
Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Evolutionary Biology and Ecology from Appalachian State University, I blend my academic background with hands-on experience. During my college years, I traveled around the world to study natural ecosystems – writing my capstone thesis on the Forest Ecology of Australia + New Zealand. I also had the pleasure of assissting our Sustainable Development department with plant care in the campus greenhouse. This experience laid the foundation for my holistic approach to sustainable and efficient gardening practices.
Mastering the Art
My expertise in kitchen garden consulting has been honed through dedicated learning under the Gardenary theory of Nicole Burke. Under her guidance, I mastered the intensive planting method—an innovative approach that not only maximizes yields but also naturally deters diseases and unwanted animals + insects. This method forms the backbone of my consulting philosophy, ensuring your garden thrives with health and abundance.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a green-thumb novice, I am here to guide you on your kitchen garden journey. Let’s transform your outdoor space into a vibrant, edible oasis. Together, we’ll cultivate a sustainable haven that not only nourishes your body but also feeds your soul.
Let’s sow the seeds of a thriving kitchen garden together!
